Vision Therapy

Vision Therapy is an individualized neuro-optometric program designed to improve and treat visual function. The goal is to improve visual skills, to eliminate symptoms of visual stress and provide the skills necessary to read and learn at your full potential.

While prescription eyeglasses are often a good first step, optimal performance at school, work and sports goes well beyond clarity of sight. We assess every aspect of your vision. How your eyes move, focus, absorb the world around you and direct your brain to respond to what you see.

We work with you to make your eyes fitter, faster and stronger because we know you can and will do better. Whether it’s winning at sports, or keeping up with your class, our programs create results that bring awareness and understanding to how your vision might be holding you back from achieving your goals.

Traumatic Brain Injury

Concussions, whiplash and other causes of brain injury can disrupt effective efficient visual processing. Even when MRI and CT scans show no physical damage, the pathways for vision can be interrupted.

Post Trauma Vision Syndrome (PTVS) is a cluster of symptoms that are common after a TBI. If you are suffering from any of the following you may have PTVS: headaches, light sensitivity, double vision, poor concentration and short attention span, visual fatigue, a change in prescription, and poor focusing Dr North works in concert with the rest of your rehabilitation team to develop a rehabilitation program to help influence and maximize potential for recovery.
